What we do
The National Disability Forum Solomon Islands (NDFSI) is the national umbrella body representing organisations of persons with disabilities throughout Solomon Islands. We work alongside our member organisations, government agencies, development partners, and communities to promote the rights, inclusion, and wellbeing of persons with disabilities.
Advocacy
We advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities and work to influence policies, laws, and programmes that promote equality, accessibility, and non-discrimination. Through awareness raising and engagement with decision-makers, we strive to ensure that disability inclusion remains a national priority.
Capacity Building
We strengthen the skills, knowledge, and leadership of persons with disabilities and their representative organisations through training, mentoring, and learning opportunities. By building organisational and individual capacity, we help create stronger disability-led movements and more inclusive communities.
Participation
As the national umbrella body, NDFSI brings together organisations representing persons with different disabilities, including those who are blind, deaf, and persons with physical, intellectual, and psychosocial disabilities. We support meaningful participation in community life, development initiatives, and decision-making processes, ensuring that persons with disabilities have a voice in matters that affect their lives.
